We did not open a shop. We opened a studio.

Aventine Atelier began with a piece of aventurine found at an antique fair and a question: why is there no jewellery that looks exactly the way I feel it should?

The answer was the atelier. A small, light-filled space with drawers full of semiprecious stones, silver wire and a great deal of patience. Every piece from Aventine Atelier goes through the same ritual: choosing the stone, sketching the form, setting it by hand, finishing.

We do not produce to order in series. We do not hold large stock. We create 12–20 new pieces — each with its own unique code and a handwritten card describing the story of the stone from which it was made.

The creation process:

How an Aventine Atelier piece is born:

• Stone selection: Every stone is chosen by hand. If it has a crack, a spot or an uneven colour that does not serve it, it does not enter in our studio.
• The sketch: Every design is drawn on paper before it is realised. We do a lot of research before we establish a design.
• Setting: We chose the right elements and we start creating an amazing piece.
• Finishing: Polish, inspection, photography. If something does not look exactly right, we fix it or start again.
• Packaging: The kraft box, the velvet lining, the card, the ribbon. Every detail matters.
